Lemon Cypress (4")

Product Details
UPC: 205

The Lemon Cypress (Cupressus macrocarpa 'Goldcrest') with its vibrant golden foliage and refreshing citrus fragrance, is a delightful addition to your indoor or outdoor space.

Light: Place your Lemon Cypress in a location with full sunlight. It thrives in direct sunlight for at least 6 hours a day. If kept indoors, provide the brightest spot possible, such as a south-facing window.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top inch of the soil feels slightly dry. In the growing season (spring and summer), water more frequently, and reduce watering in the winter when the plant is in a resting phase.

Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix suitable for outdoor container plants. If planting in the ground, ensure the soil is well-draining. Lemon Cypress prefers slightly acidic to neutral soil.

Temperature and Humidity: Maintain a temperature range of 50-70°F (10-21°C). Lemon Cypress is adaptable to normal household humidity levels. If kept indoors, provide good air circulation.

Fertilizing: Feed your Lemon Cypress with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half the recommended strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Withhold fertilizer in the winter when growth slows.

Pruning: Prune your Lemon Cypress to maintain its desired shape. Pinch back the tips to encourage bushiness. Remove any leggy or yellowing growth to keep the plant compact and full.

Common Issues:

  • Browning Foliage: Dry indoor air or underwatering can cause browning. Mist the tree regularly or use a humidifier, and adjust your watering routine.

Indoor vs. Outdoor Care:

  • Indoor: Keep the Lemon Cypress indoors during the winter in colder climates. Provide outdoor exposure during the warmer months.
  • Outdoor: If planted outdoors, ensure the tree is suitable for your climate zone. Plant in well-draining soil and water as needed. If you are moving your potted Lemon Cypress outdoors in Revelstoke, ensure that night time temperatures are not dropping below 10 degrees celsius.

Pets: Lemon Cypress is generally non-toxic to pets, but it's always a good practice to keep plants out of reach.
